| Students from Rotherham College of Arts and Technology (RCAT) have found an unusual – but legal - place in which to exhibit their work. Foregoing the conventional public gallery, they have opted instead to brighten the walls of Howells Solicitors with their art and photography. Students from the Level 3 Art and Design programme are hanging a range of mixed media work in Howells’ Rotherham office on Ship Hill where twelve exhibits now adorn the reception. More exhibits are planned for the coming future to also be displayed in the meeting rooms and other public areas. Mary Rose Macadam, Partner at Howells, commented “We are delighted to be able to support the Art and Design students at RCAT through this initiative, it’s not only given them an outlet but it’s given the office a real lift too. The students show a great deal of creativity and passion for their craft and we think this is a wonderful way to celebrate the young talent of Rotherham” The participating students and their families will all shortly be invited to a private viewing and prints of each exhibit are being made available for sale. The pop-up art gallery is just one project that forms part of an on-going relationship between RCAT and Howells. As well as providing the exhibition space, Howells will also be sponsoring the college’s annual design competition and supporting the students’ annual trip.
