Howells has been awarded a Legal Aid Agency contract to provide specialist advice in connection with claims under the Equality Act . The contract is national and will be delivered with two other organisations, Merseyside Employment Law & Stephensons Solicitors LLP, and will cover England and Wales.
Pam Kenworthy Legal Director said “I am very excited that we have won this contract. It is generally thought that legal aid is no longer available for employment cases but if some one has been discriminated at work we can still help. We can also advise on discrimination in the provision of goods and services, including shops, banks, transport and travel and clubs and other organisations.”
Individuals wanting to access discrimination advice must contact Civil Legal Advice on 0845 3454 345.
If you are eligible for advice you can have immediate and direct access to a specialist discrimination lawyer. For further details go to Gov.uk webite https://www.gov.uk/civil-legal-advice
