The skills of a Howells Family lawyer have been recognised by the UK’s leading family law group – Resolution. Matrimonial Solicitor John Clegg, has recently gained Resolution accredited specialist status.
John, who has been qualified for five years and specialises in domestic abuse and financial remedy cases has now gained his specialist status under the Resolution scheme.
Originally set up in 1999, the scheme is designed to help people who are facing a family breakdown to make an informed choice when deciding which lawyer to appoint. To become a Resolution accredited specialist, lawyers have to agree to uphold the Resolution Code of Practice and to have passed a written test demonstrating a breadth of knowledge of family law issues and specialist knowledge in at least two areas of family law.
Howells matrimonial team are all resolution members, and now have seven solicitors who are Accredited Specialists. John comments: “Part of being a Resolution member is being committed to encouraging a non-confrontational approach to resolving family disputes.
By acting in this way, both the emotional and financial costs of divorce or family breakdown are minimised and it is less stressful for all parties.”
By choosing a Resolution specialist, anyone seeking family legal advice can be assured that they are being advised by someone who not only has wide knowledge and experience of family law, but who is also working to a code of practice that benefits all those involved.
