Rebecca started her career at Howells Solicitors in 2014 shortly after she began her Legal Practice Course at The University of Sheffield and worked at the firm part time. She started in the conveyancing department as a paralegal and was quickly offered a full time contract when she finished her studies.
Rebecca was offered a training contract shortly after starting at Howells, and she gained experience in conveyancing, employment and discrimination, family law and medical negligence during her training.
“I wanted to develop my career in Howells as they offer a wide range of services and there is plenty of opportunity to gain a wide range of experience.” Rebecca said “The firm is also focused on client care, which I think is really important.
“From my time working at Howells part time, I knew that the firm cared about their staff and were really supportive when it came to making sure the team succeeds, and understanding the importance of flexible working and maintaining a work life balance. This was particularly important to me when I was studying for my LPC as I really felt supported by the firm”
Rebecca enjoyed working on medical negligence cases so much that she decided to remain in the departments once her training contract was complete.
“It was a proud moment when I became a fully qualified Solicitor. I had enjoyed my training in medical negligence so much I knew this was the area of law for me.
“I’m very passionate about helping people and medical negligence allows me build relationships with clients and offer peace of mind during distressing and challenging times. To feel like I’m making a difference is extremely motivating to me.”
Rebecca continuously attends training courses, webinars and seminars in order to develop her skills and progress her career, and o
“Not only has working at Howells allowed me to gain experience in many areas of law, but it has allowed me to develop through both theory and practice as the firm constantly invest in their staff. You definitely get back what you put into working at Howells.”
