Secretary Child Care/Family

We are currently looking to recruit a secretary full time in our child care/family department at Sheffield.

Applicants must have previous experience of working in a secretarial/administrative position and experience of using digital dictation.

The job holder will be expected to carry out all aspects of administration support to the busy fee earners in our child care/family department. Duties will include but are not limited to: corresponding with clients over the telephone, face to face and email, maintaining accurate diary systems, making up new files, ensuring all files are kept up to date and responding to routine correspondence. An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the busy and successful Wills Trust and Probate Team at Howells. We are currently recruiting a contentious probate fee earner to work in this hardworking team, across the three South Yorkshire offices (Sheffield, Rotherham and Barnsley), providing good quality legal advice to clients seeking assistance with a wide variety of wills trust and probate issues.

Litigation specialist – Claims Against Public Authorities

We have a vacancy for a civil litigator (full and part time applicants considered) to join our civil actions and public law team, based in the Sheffield office. Whilst a qualified solicitor is preferred we will consider all applicants with relevant experience.

We wish to recruit someone with experience of pursuing police complaints, claims against public authorities, inquests and judicial review.

Applicants should be familiar with assessing clients for Legal Help and completing CCMS applications as well as CFAs, ATE and private client work. Experience of undertaking file reviews and supervision in line with the CAPA supervisor standard would be an advantage.
