The professional guide to the legal sector; Chambers UK 2016 has recognised Howells Solicitors as one of the top law firms in South Yorkshire.
The guide has once again rated Howells highly in several areas across family, civil and criminal defence departments.
Howells Crime department has again been ranked as a top tier firm in Sheffield and the surrounding area.
The Family department have been highly ranked in Sheffield, hosting “several children law specialists and Resolution-accredited practitioners”. The guide also comments that the team are known “for giving pragmatic, straightforward, sensible, reasonable advice.”
The Immigration department is noted “for its work with vulnerable clients, including those that have suffered domestic violence, who are seeking asylum and making human rights-based applications.” As a new entry for the guide, Solicitor Nadeem Ahmed has been recognised for “an excellent reputation for his “impressive attention to detail” and “excellent knowledge of the field.”
For the third year running, Howells’ Medical Negligence team have been recommended, with solicitor Michelle Gyte being praised for her “extensive expertise in this field” and colleague Tania Harrison being noted for specialising in “claims concerning the Human Rights Act,… obstetrics and fatal accident claims.”
Howells is also recommended across the whole of the UK for Police Law, with head of department and Managing Partner Peter Mahy receiving high praise as an “eminent practitioner” in this area. He is also recognised UK wide for Administrative and Public Law as well as Civil Liberties and Human Rights.
