Howells Solicitors is supporting SAFE@LAST by announcing the local South Yorkshire charity as their Charity Of The Year.
Organising regular activities and initiatives, Howells will dedicate their fundraising to SAFE@LAST, a charity that assists young people at risk of running away from home.
Kicking off the support, the Children Team at Howells hosted a training event for staff and local professionals in which all fees were donated to the charity raising over £180.
Howells Partner and Head of the Children Team; Doug Leach said “SAFE@LAST is a charity we are very familiar with in our profession and they provide an essential service for young people at risk. We have seen first hand how important the service is that they provide and we are very pleased to support them as our Charity of the Year.
“The recent training event on Children and Attachment Theory was a great success, attracting much interest. Raising over £180 for SAFE@LAST made the event even more worthwhile and we hope to run similar events more regularly in future.”
Celebrating the 10th anniversary of their first service this year, SAFE@LAST was established to provide essential services for the 1 in 9 children under the age of 16 in South Yorkshire that are affected by running away. The charity has since helped thousands of young people and provides services from prevention to crisis intervention including a 24 hour Helpline, the only children’s refuge in the UK, a prevention and education programme and one to one support for children and their families.
