A group of art students from Rotherham College of Arts and Technology (RCAT) studying their final year swapped Rotherham for Rome for 5 days of historical and art inspiration.
The college arranges an annual European residential trip for Level 3 and Higher Education students, giving them the chance to experience different cultures, visit the many famous museums and galleries and gather inspiration for their final major projects.
This year, the annual trip, sponsored by Howells Solicitors, took the students to Rome, taking in the sites of St Peter’s Basilica, – The Vatican, Coliseum, Tivoli Gardens and various galleries.
The students were able to collect research and prepare for their final major project.
Gwen Plant, Head of Visual & Performing Arts at RCAT said the trip this year was amazing. I have never seen so many students excited and inspired about what they we saw in Rome. I am looking forward to seeing how the students will use this influence to help them with future projects.”
Mary Rose Macadam, Partner at Howells Solicitors said “We have supported RCAT for many years now and we still find it rewarding to help students get ahead in their chosen careers. We were happy to sponsor part of the college trip as it was an important chance for the students to see the artistic culture of Rome. Hopefully they will have taken away some great inspiration from the experience.”
