Howells Family Partner qualifies as Mediator

Howells Solicitors

02 Jul, 2013

Howells  has extended the services the family team can offer as Partner Alyson Siddall has now  qualified as a Resolution Trained Mediator. Alyson can offer clients who find themselves in dispute an alternative way forward to resolve their disputes together without involving the courts.

Alyson, Head of the Family department at Howells Solicitors, has trained with the nationally recognised organisation Resolution. Mediation is a voluntary, confidential process by which couples discuss  the arrangements for their future (children and/or finances) with the help of a neutral third party; the mediator.  The mediator manages the sessions whilst  the parties retain control of the process.

Speaking of her newly acquired qualification, Alyson commented “I am proud to have qualified as a Mediator  and delighted to be able to offer this service to our clients. Mediation is an important part of the family law process.  The process  offers people the chance to settle disputes together through dialogue without involving the  court. The process is quicker and  less expensive than legal proceedings. Mediation is also less unsettling for all those involved, especially children.”

“Being able to offer mediation services with legal expertise and experience is a great benefit.  We already have a great reputation in Family Law and this additional service will allow us to strengthen our profile even more and offer another alternative way forward for clients.”

Highly experienced, Alyson Siddall is a renowned solicitor in the area of Family Law whose team is consistently ranked as the number one firm for family and child law in the north, providing a broad range of expert care and advice from divorce and civil partnerships to child adoption and care proceedings.
