Howells Solicitors have been recognised as one of the top law firms in the 2015 edition of the Legal 500 across all family, civil and criminal departments.
Several areas across the firm have once again been highly ranked in the professional guide, maintaining their rankings from previous years.
Howells Immigration team has been ranked as a top tier firm across Yorkshire and the Humber for specialising in areas of civil liberties, miscarriages of justice, and family migration work, as well as cases involving domestic violence and trafficking, with “several matters having proceeded to the Upper Tribunal.”
The Family team remain highly ranked, being consistently recognised for their work in matrimonial and children law with the department being lead by matrimonial expert Alyson Siddall.
The Crime team have maintained their high rankings in both the general crime and fraud categories. Chris Wong received an individual recommendation for his VHCC and fraud experience, John Gibson for leading the team and Chris Peace being “recognised for her youth court work”.
Employment were recognised for their claimant work “with highlights including pursuing claims for race discrimination and freedom of religion in the Employment Appeal Tribunal” alongside their respondent work for local businesses and charities.
Praise was also given to the Personal Injury and Housing teams, as well as Medical Negligence who were noted for their “legal aid work, with niche expertise in prison healthcare, negligence claims arising from walk-in centres, and mental health issues”.
