The professional guide to the legal sector; Chambers UK 2018 has recognised Howells Solicitors as one of the top law firms in South Yorkshire.

The guide has once again rated Howells highly in several areas across family, civil and criminal defence departments.

Howells Criminal Defence department has again been ranked as a top tier firm in Sheffield and the surrounding area.

The Family department have been highly ranked in Sheffield, with children and marital teams “offering considerable bench strength in each.” The guide also comments that the team are “increasingly active in dealing with high net worth cases and child abduction cases over the past year. Bolstered by a designated mediation and collaborative law group.”

For the fifth year running, Howells’ Medical Negligence team have been recommended, as the team “stands out for its handling of inquests and related negligence claims involving human rights and the appropriate treatment of patients with mental health issues.” Sources note that “they are great lawyers and want to run interesting points.
