Howells Solicitors Celebrates Newly Qualified Solicitors

Howells Solicitors

17 May, 2023

This month (May 2023), we celebrate the graduation of our three trainee solicitors Emmanuella Wallace, Jade Agheda-Todd and Ramandeep Kaur. The newly qualified solicitors will join our expanding family law, criminal defence, and conveyancing teams after successfully completing their training contracts.

Emmanuella, Jade and Ramandeep beat out hundreds of applicants to secure our coveted training contracts and now look to a bright future in the firm. The training contract requires each solicitor to undertake placements across various departments in the firm before they qualify in their chosen area of law.

Newly qualified Solicitor, Jade Agheda Todd, said “The support at Howells has been amazing. There is so much trust given from the team and the mentoring opportunities thanks to the training contract have been endless.”

“I have been entrusted to take on my own workload, attend police stations, court and have covered all areas of crime so far. I have been given such amazing experiences which will enhance my future opportunities, all whilst always being supported.”

New Solicitor Emmanuella Wallace said “The support from Howells has been amazing, even through the tough time of covid.”

“At first training through covid was challenging. We all had to change how we worked very quickly, but Howells adapted quickly and always made sure I had contact time and felt supported.”

New Solicitor Ramandeep said “I’m very proud to not only have qualified as a solicitor but secured a contract in my chosen area of Matrimonial. I was attracted to Howells by the fact that the firm focused on inward progression and support within, so it’s excellent to see this in action.

“I think Howells is a nice place to work and everyone, including all partners are approachable and operate an open-door policy. You can always ask for work to be checked by any colleague and feel comfortable doing so.”

John Clegg, Partner, and training principal at Howells Solicitors said, “People are at the heart of everything that we do, and we have a strong ethos of ‘growing our own’. Therefore, myself and my fellow partners couldn’t be more delighted that we’ve continued growing and developing our trainees within the firm.

“We have had some excellent Solicitors grow in the company following training contracts, and we have no doubt that we will see this continue with Emanuella, Jade and Ramandeep. They have worked extremely hard during their training and are a real credit to the firm.”

Our next round of trainee solicitors start in the early summer of 2023, with an additional batch starting in the autumn of this year.

John Clegg said “We’re excited to be growing the number of applications we’re taking for our training contracts, and we are currently organising our intake for 2024.”

Applications for future training contracts are now open and can be found our website: current-vacancies/solicitor-training-contract/
