As part of the ongoing support and link between Howells and Rotherham College of Art and Technology (RCAT), Howells has sponsored a recent student trip to Madrid.

As part of their art and design courses, students from RCAT were flown to Madrid for a 4 day residential trip last month to gain insight and inspiration from some of the great works of art on display in Madrid’s galleries.

The trip allowed 25 students studying L3 and Higher Education programmes in Art & Design, Photography, Graphic Design and Fashion to further their research and education in their chosen fields of study, visiting an array of artistic sights including the Museo Del Prado, the Reina Sofia Museum Of Art and the Caxia Forum Contemporary Gallery as well as the fashion areas of the city.

Student Josh Hall, studying on the L3 Art & Design course said “The Madrid trip was very inspirational especially the architecture that I saw in the city and the artwork at the galleries and museums. I loved every minute of the experience.”

18+ Foundation Diploma student Tom Smithson, said “The residential to Madrid was inspirational as I was able to see the work of Romi Horn a contemporary fine artist and photographer whose work was on exhibition at the Caxia Forum Gallery.”

Mary Rose Macadam, Partner at Howells Solicitors said “We have supported RCAT for many years now and we still find it rewarding to help students get ahead in their chosen careers. We were happy to sponsor the college trip and pay for entrance into some of the exhibitions as it was an important chance for the students to see the artistic culture of Madrid. Hopefully they will have taken away some great inspiration from the experience.”
