Child Accident Claims

Children have accidents all the time and most of these injuries are nobody’s fault. However, sometimes children are hurt because of improper safety measures in place. Our accident and personal injury solicitors at Howells LLP are here for you if your child has been injured in an accident that was the result of someone else’s negligence.

How We Can Help With a Child Accident Claim

Suffering an injury is traumatic, they take away our independence and stop us from being able to carry on with everyday life. So, when an accident involves a child, it can be hard to cope with and seeing them in pain is devastating.

We understand that no amount of money can make up for this, however, we’ve seen how much of a difference compensation can make to a family to afford treatment and lead to a better recovery.

Our accident and personal injury solicitors can help if your child has been injured:

  • At nursery, school, or college (this includes school trips)
  • In a road traffic accident
  • In a public place
  • Due to medical negligence

Our child accident claims solicitors always act sympatrically and respectfully and will ensure you and your child are fully supported during the duration of the claim.

Child Accident Claims FAQs

Who gets compensation for a child?

If your child has had an accident, the compensation received from a successful personal injury claim is owed directly to the child. If they are above the age of 18 when the claim is resolved, the money will be sent to them. However, if they aren’t 18, the compensation for the child will be placed into a Court Funds Office account.

How long after an accident can you file a claim for a child?

When bringing a personal injury claim on behalf of a child, there is a limitation period which is generally within 3 years from the date of the accident.
