What is Cerebral Palsy?

Cerebral palsy is a disorder that affects an individual’s brain (cerebral) and the way they are able to use their muscles (palsy). A lot of the time, there is no link between the disorder and medical negligence of a practitioner, however, sometimes clinical errors can be made by professionals which result in cerebral palsy in a newborn.

These clinical errors include:

  • Failure to monitor the baby’s heartbeat
  • Incorrect use of instruments during delivery
  • Failure to carry out a caesarian section
  • Delivering the baby too late

What Happens When I Make a Cerebral Palsy Claim?

Our expert medical negligence solicitors are committed to ensuring that a full investigation is undertaken to identify whether your child has suffered a brain injury as a result of medical negligence. We do this by obtaining medical records and evidence from all the professionals involved. If it is found that an error caused your child to suffer a brain injury, our team will work tirelessly to obtain the level of damages required to ensure your child can achieve their full potential.
